What we have learned at Main Street is that great companies will have a greater purpose
and a larger vision beyond just making money or being number one in the market. Most
companies have "core values" or "guiding principles", and so do we. The problem is
that they all sound alike and read like a press release that the marketing department
puts out. A lot of times employees learn it day one & you will find it on a meaningless
plaque in the corporate lobby. What we have learned is that others can copy our approach to
business, but they cannot copy our people, our culture, or our service. For those of
